Kelly Grosky Fund Opportunity!

Updated on 2017-02-09 12:13:17

Just wanted to take a moment to say "THANK YOU" to everyone who has supported our Kelly Grosky Athlete Subsidy Fund this year. Whether you attended the Fall Skills Clinics or bought a Canuck Scarf or made a donation, we want you to know your support has made a big difference for a lot of people!

We have been able to offer over $14,0000.00 worth of assistance to Canuck families struggling with finances in these tough economic times and because of your efforts, we have kids playing Canuck Volleyball that otherwise could not afford it.

We have one more really easy fund raiser planned for this year with the help of Five Guys Burgers and Fries. All you have to do is go to any Five Guys location in Calgary or Airdrie on February 23rd between 11am and 10pm and say you are with the Canuck Stuff Volleyball Club and they will donate 20% of your purchase to the Canuck Kelly Grosky Subsidy Fund. So round up your team mates, family and friends and head out to Five Guys Burgers on Feb 23rd to enjoy a great meal and help some Canuck families at the same time!
Please remember to Thank the people at Five Guys for making the opportunity available and being such amazing community supporters!

Online Tryout Registration is Now Closed

Updated on 2016-11-26 13:23:06

Online Registration for Canuck tryouts is now closed.

Tryouts will begin during the week of November 28th as per Volleyball Alberta regulations. There is a non-refundable $25.00 registration fee to cover the cost of court rentals.

All athletes (re-signed, returning and new players) wanting to play Canuck Volleyball this season will need to register online and attend tryouts.

Returning players that were invited to re-sign with Canuck were required to respond between Sept. 17th and 20th. That deadline has now passed and the names of those athletes that are returning for the 2017 season have be posted on the roster for their team. New Junior Canucks Program!!

Updated on 2016-11-17 14:46:10

With the ever growing numbers and interest in competitive volleyball The Volleydome and The Canuck Stuff Volleyball Club have teamed up to create more opportunities for young players to develop and compete at the next level in a new program called "Jr. Canucks".

Last year we had over 100 girls try out at U14 and about 60 boys, but we were only able to keep 30 of each. Canuck will still run tryouts to select 2 Boys and 2 Girls teams which will compete at the Premiers, Provincials and Nationals as before, but we will make room for another 30 U14 girls (born 2003 and 2004) and another 30 U13 girls (born 2004 and 2005). Our Jr. Canucks program will also have 3 more teams of Boys (born between 2003 and 2005). The Jr Canuck teams will practice 3 times per week and will compete in the Volleyball Alberta Premiers and Provincials as well as some in house tournaments at the Volleydome. Fees will be $1250.00 per athlete for the Jr. Canuck program as they do not include hotels or nationals. Fees will include about 130 hours of training and tournament time during the season (December to May), as well as uniforms, registration and entry fees and great coaching.
Interested U14 athletes (2003/2004) can register online and attend the regular Canuck Tryouts where the coaches will select their 20 Canuck athletes. The remaining athletes will be encouraged to continue on with the Jr. Canuck tryouts (Dec. 3rd to 11th) where the additional teams will be selected.
Interested male and female athletes born in 2004 and 2005 can register online in the Jr Canucks category. We are very excited to be able to offer these keen young players the opportunity to receive excellent coaching lead by Stefan Filip and a chance to play at the provincial level.
